Historic Flooding Threatens Blood Supply. Answer the Call to Donate by the End of the Year.

Historic flooding threatens the blood supply

Canceled drives mean blood shortages. Book your appointment and support Mission in Motion to keep lifesaving blood moving to where it’s needed most.

As a blood donor, you’re not just giving blood: you’re sharing life and hope with our communities, from Bellingham to Eugene. Hope that ensures everyone in the Pacific Northwest has access to lifesaving blood if, when, and where they need it.

Right now, our blood supply is in critical need of donations. Historic flooding in Western Washington from the ongoing atmospheric river forced cancelation of ten local blood drives and the closure of a donor center this week, resulting in the loss of 500+ potential donations. This comes at a time when blood supplies are already strained — and the busy holiday season is about to intensify.

Be a lifeforce for our community and make an appointment to donate blood by the end of the year. We have 14 donor centers and nearly 90 blood drives each week happening across the Pacific Northwest.

Help us keep lifesaving blood moving

When flooding cancels blood drives, mobile units become lifelines that prevent the disruption of our blood supply by rapidly creating new, safe places to donate. This underscores why we launched Mission in Motion — to expand our bloodmobile fleet and reach donors anywhere.

Your gift today — no matter the amount — will put new bloodmobiles on the road. A bloodmobile isn’t just a vehicle. It’s a mobile lifeline, driven by compassion, purpose, and people like you.
